“THE BAGNIO MISCELLANY Containing the Adventures of Miss Lais Lovecock, written by herself; and what happened at Miss Twigs Academy and Afterwards. Dialogues between a Jew and a Christian, a whimsical entertainment lately performed in Dukes Place. The Force of Instinct: A True Story, wherein is detailed the Curious Experiment resorted to by a Young Lady in order to make the Hair grow on the Bottom of her Belly, with other Droll Matters and Quaint Conseits.” Originally published around 1830 by George Cannon, The Bagnio Miscellany is a very famous collection of dirty stories. This edition is a 1967 reprint of the 1892 Bibliophilists edition. The 1892 edition does not contain “Marie Antoinette” and “The Widow and the Parson’s Bull” which were in the original 1830 edition, but does contain “Dialogues between a Jew and a Christian” which was not in the original edition.
