My Life and Loves: From Birth to Manhood [prospectus pamphlet], Frank Harris (Frank Harris, nd [c. 1922])
8.75″ X 5.5″, 4pp, pamphlet, fair condition for age, worn and frayed at edges.
This is a very rare pamphlet made by Frank Harris c. 1922 to promote the first volume of his self-published autobiography. It is unknown whether this was printed before or after his first volume came out, but there is no mention of the other volumes. From text: “Here is the first volume of the long-promised “Autobiography” of Frank Harris told with appalling frankness and astonishing veracity.” and speaking of autobiographies by Goethe and Cellini, “Compared with this book of Harris’ they are tedious, harmless, nursery tales; for he is a s bold in love-making when a boy as Cellini was bold in fighting and he confesses in detail what Rousseau hardly dares to hint.”
